Prince Edward Island Statistics

Roots of Empathy was first introduced into Prince Edward Island in the fall of 2000 in nine schools.

In the 2008-09 school year in Prince Edward Island:

200 children are participating in the program.
Eight programs are running in seven schools in three school districts.
Eight Instructors conducting the program. These Instructors are supported provincially by one Mentor and one Key Point Person (local program coordinator).
ROE is delivered in urban, rural and remote communities including schools with high aboriginal populations and schools on-reserve.
One French language program is currently running.
Two programs are currently running on-reserve in PEI.

Since 2000, Roots of Empathy has reached 3,275 students in PEI
