Mary Gordon selected as keynote speaker for Women in Innovation Summit
21 September 2012: On September 22nd, Roots of Empathy Founder/President Mary Gordon will share her knowledge as a social entrepreneur, author, educator, and parenting expert at the Women in Innovation Summit (WINS 2012).
As a keynote speaker, Gordon will address nearly 200 participants on The Roots of the Innovation Challenge: Seeding for Innovative Humanity. WINS 2012 is part of the Seattle Center’s Next Fifty Celebration, and will bring together some of the foremost women leaders in business, government, technology, science and social change.
“The vision of the Summit is to attract women and men who believe that invoking the mind, heart and power of women matters, and that finding collaborative ways to innovate for the greater good is paramount to a thriving world,” describes WINs creator Kristiina Hiukka.
As the first female Canadian Ashoka Fellow and 2011 recipient of the Manning Innovation Award, Gordon will draw upon her experience with Roots of Empathy to detail best practices for innovators of social change. Gordon will be joined by nine other influential women speaking on topics including women and the economy, women at the intersection of technology and leadership, women and science, and more.
