Mary Gordon to be guest speaker at Women Investing for Impact
10 October 2012: Women Investing for Impact (WIFI) has invited Roots of Empathy Founder/President Mary Gordon to speak at a breakfast seminar in Montréal on October 12. Established in 2011, WIFI has quickly grown to include a series of talks by leading experts and social entrepreneurs in the not-for-profit field.
WIFI examines the potential of impact investing, and aims to increase access to resources and support for the social sector. Its members comprise of fundraisers, donors, directors, and social entrepreneurs who share the common goal of aiding not-for-profits through impact investments and business methods.
As the first female Canadian Ashoka Fellow and an Ashoka Globalizer, Gordon is a globally recognized social entrepreneur. At the seminar, she will be addressing a group of distinguished women leaders from both the not-for-profit and business sectors on the challenges often faced by social entrepreneurs. Using her experience as the Founder/President of Roots of Empathy, Gordon will also discuss the ways social enterprises can increase their community impact in order to achieve their organizational goals.
