Mary Gordon to deliver keynote at McGill University

7 October 2012: On October 12, Roots of Empathy Founder/President Mary Gordon will be delivering the keynote speech at McGill University’s Desautels Homecoming 2012, presented by the Social Economy Initiative.

Gordon will be addressing faculty and alumni of the Marcel Desautels Institute for Integrated Management as a lead-up to the official launch of the institute’s Social Economy Initiative. The initiative will be introduced in 2013 with the aim of integrating social entrepreneurship and innovation into the institute’s teaching, research, and outreach activities.


Selected as the keynote speaker for her background as an award-winning social entrepreneur and educator, Gordon will be presenting on her experience as the Founder/President of Roots of Empathy. As the first female Canadian Ashoka Fellow and an Ashoka Globalizer, she is recognized internationally as a creative entrepreneur with the knowledge and determination to achieve social change.

The presentation is free to attend, with Gordon speaking from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. To learn more about the event, visit the Social Economy Initiative’s website.
