Seattle turns out for Roots of Empathy

November 30, 2011: Hundreds of parents, educators and researchers joined Mary Gordon and Dr. Stuart Shanker at Town Hall Seattle on Tuesday evening to discuss the significance of developing self-regulation in children, and how the Roots of Empathy program achieves this in the classroom.

Dr. Stuart Shanker gave a detailed description of current research on self-regulation and the remarkable findings that support the specific curriculum used by Roots of Empathy Instructors, and the results being achieved.

Tonya Mosley of KING-5 TV moderated the evening, including introductory presentations, an open discussion and questions from the audience. Seattle Channel recorded the event, which can be seen here.
