  • Isle of Man was the first country in Europe to provide the Roots of Empathy program through its schools.

  • In November 2011, The Children's Centre was awarded the Mannvend Award for Corporate Social Responsibility at the annual Isle of Man Newspapers Awards for Excellence, in part for its role in providing the Roots of Empathy program to schools across the country.

  • A 2009-2010 study of Year 2 students in Isle of Man primary schools revealed that "Year 2 students in the Roots of Empathy program displayed improved social and emotional competence and positive social behaviours."

  • 86% of teachers in Roots of Empathy classrooms strongly agreed or agreed that, as a result
    of the program, students were less verbally aggressive
    by the end of the school year.
