Roots of Empathy in Newfoundland and Labrador |

Since 2001, Roots of Empathy has reached almost 11,000 students in Newfoundland and Labrador. More than 100 Newfoundland and Labrador babies will be "teaching" in classrooms in the 2012-2013 school year.

- In Newfoundland and Labrador, 77% of teachers with the program in their classroom strongly agreed or agreed that as a result of Roots of Empathy, students were less physically aggressive by the end of the school year.
- 93% of teachers with the program strongly agreed or agreed that as a result of Roots of Empathy, students are more able to understand other people's points of view.
- Roots of Empathy programs have been implemented in all school districts throughout Newfoundland and Labrador, including the Conseil scolaire francophone. There have also been programs in Innu and Inuit communities in Labrador and at the First Nation Community of Conne River.
