Roots of Empathy in Quebec Print

Launched in 2005-2006, Roots of Empathy has seen 2,875 children participate in the Québec program.

  • In Québec, 90% of teachers with the program strongly agreed or agreed that as a result of Roots of Empathy, students were less socially/psychologically/emotionally aggressive (e.g., exclusion) by the end of the school year.

  • The Roots of Empathy program is offered in three school boards in Québec: the Commision Scolaire de Montréal, the English Montréal School Board and the Central Québec School Board.

  • In 2011, Roots of Empathy was introduced to the community of Chibougamau in the Central Québec School Board. We are proud to serve the students of the Cree Nation in these classrooms.
