Roots of Empathy in Northern Ireland

 

Launched in 2010-2011, over 5,500 Irish children have since participated in a Roots of Empathy program.

  • 84% of participating students in Northern Ireland reported that if they see a pupil in the playground being bullied or treated meanly, they would help them.

 

  • 93% of teachers in Northern Ireland with Roots of Empathy in their classrooms strongly agreed or agreed that as a result of the program, pupils are more able to understand other people’s points of view.
